Over 45 startups participated in funding activities this year and ten of them have become the top New Zealand startups for 2019 which are poised to achieve new milestones with the financial nudge they have received from the recent funding rounds.

FaceMe is one of the highly funded startups in New Zealand for 2018. It is a top startup in New Zealand offering AI tech solutions to help enterprises ensure meaningful customer experiences through its chat platform. Till date, investments worth $10 million have been made into this New Zealand based startup. The company was conceived by Danny Tomsett in 2010 to help companies leverage their AI driven technologies for creating digital employees for advanced customer experiences. PredictHQ

New Zealand based startup PredictHQ has its headquarters in Auckland and is a fast-growing company in the regional startup ecosystem. It completed its Series A round of funding in November 2018 raising $10 million from it. This is the second round of funding for the New Zealand based startup and was led by Aspect Ventures and saw the participation of  Rampersand, Addventure Fund, and Lightspeed Venture Partners. PredictHQ, a top startup in New Zealand is an event intelligence platform that is helping enterprises act accordingly to ensure appropriate responses that are beneficial for their company. The company is the brainchild of Campbell Brown who co-founded it with Robert Kern and Mike Ballantyne in 2015.

Nyriad

Nyriad is a software technology company that is a top startup in New Zealand. The company will be the first one to use GPU-accelerated storage to offer cutting-edge solutions for big data and high-performance computing. The New Zealand based startup was co-founded by Matthew Simmons and Alex St John in 2014 and has piqued the interest of investors for its pioneer work. The last round of funding for the company was closed in November this year. Nyriad raised $8.5 million in this from a group of seven investors. New Zealand based startup Halter is an innovative herd management solutions company that has its headquarters in Auckland. The next company on our list of top New Zealand startups for 2019 is innovative insurtech company Cove. It completed its second round of funding in August this year pocketing NZ $2 million seed money. This amount was invested in the New Zealand based startup by Ice Angels. Cove’s platform is a one-stop shop that enables buying, managing and claiming insurance by making it easier and more efficient. It does so with its robust network of insurance and tech experts. The New Zealand based startup was co-founded by Andy Coon, Brett Wilson, Chris Coon, and Rob Coon in 2017.
